It's all fun and games until you get a saucer sled to the nose...

This is what happens when your nose challenges a saucer sled. The saucer sled wins. Stinking icy snow.... He still had fun.

Note the red spot left of center on the bridge of his nose &
the bruise just above that next to the his right, your left, eye.

No Lions, No Tigers, Just Bears...Oh My!

Got a sewing book from hubs for Christmas. I love it! Made a bear for someone's birthday coming up. I may have procrastinated Christmas gifts but I rock at early birthday gifts! (Except for my sister-in-law, her's is tomorrow and I haven't started it yet.....it might be late, sorry.)

The Whole Family

Here we are in all our glory. Christmas day at my brother-in-laws house. Weather was horrible. We were so worried about the drive, we forgot to bring the pies and cookies. Whoops! We told them we'd need to get together next week for an evening of desserts and frivolities. Here's to hoping you and your families had a wonderful Christmas. Now on to New Years!

Baby Bag for a Friend

I promised my friend Tana that I'd make her a bag for her baby. This was her 3rd child but her 1st girl & she desperately needed to add pink into her life. Segway to the Professional Tote.

So far, this is the 2nd one I've made and I totally love it. I'm thinking I'll need to make a few more. Definitely a 2 day job (unless you like spending an entire day in your sewing room, then it's just a 1 day job).

Felted Clogs

Whipped up these babies for my niece. Broke my felting needles 1/2 way through & had to make a run to the craft store for replacements. The best part was the needle felting. It's a new thing I tried. I'm thinking I'm going to need to do this again!

Pattern: Fiber Trends Felted Clogs
Yarn: Patons Classic Wool & Lion Brand Fishermen's Wool
Needle size: 13
Additional material: felting needles and mat

Bella isn't Just a Name...

It's a mitten too! Finished making my mittens but only took a picture of one. I have been wearing them and am loving how warm and comfy they are. Definitely something I would make for mitten lovers. Very quick to knit up. I don't remember the last time I loved a finished project so much (that's saying something)!

Pattern: Bella's Mittens
Yarn: Cascade 220, 2 hanks
Needle: size 8 double pointed & one cable needle

Easy way to ice your holiday cookies

We had hubs brother and his family over for dinner last night. Hubs spent all day yesterday making cookies (he likes doing that stuff). We decided to set them outside on the deck next to the house while we were baking so the chocolate bits wouldn't melt and they'd be out of the way.

Fast forward to this morning. We are sitting in the living room, reading the paper, admiring the rain and the ice that's forming a crust over everything. Then we remember about the cookies...

Voila! Iced cookies!

I smell bacon

Because I am just that mature. Need I say more?
